Kings 270 degree awning on a single cab ute

Has anyone successfully installed a 270 free standing awning on a single cab ute?
Mine has ladder racks but they're just slightly too far a part to mount the awning. I'm thinking of getting a bar welded across the racks but I just wanted to hear everyone else's solutions.

No need to weld anything, you would be far better off bolting a steel or aluminium section between the two racks and attaching your awning to that. A pretty straightforward job

You’ll want either vertical or horizontal with a bit of width to it - 150mm plus.
There are then proprietary mounting options like raxbrax or it could be as simple as an ally plank bolted to your racks and use the brackets that come with the awning to bolt to the plank.
