They are claiming 200mm wider than a 200 and their 37" tyres will do less damage to the dunes. They didn't mention their weight difference I note.Funny thing is those 4wd trucks doing itas mentioned above (Hino I think) have a wider wheel track I assume so they will stuff up the dunes for the normal 4wds haha
He spent a lot of time and money on that RR to make it reliable enough to go on the trip. One of the most self-indulgent and boring set of videos on Youtube.ASPW was bragging on Youtube not long ago that he got permission to do it from some of the TO's with the proviso he stay out of the communities. He'll just be one of many now. Apparently he's doing it in his super early model Range Rover Classic. That would be older than @discomatt's Disco.
And I would do it without hesitation in the old girl if I had the back up crew to carry all the extra fuel.ASPW was bragging on Youtube not long ago that he got permission to do it from some of the TO's with the proviso he stay out of the communities. How much oil?And I would do it without hesitation in the old girl if I had the back up crew to carry all the extra fuel.
Anyone want to do the CSR with me and carry their fuel and supplies plus and additional 200 l of fuel for me?
none, the old bus doesn't have anything more than a sight sweat here and there, certainly nothing even close to needing a top up between services but I do like the way you thinkHow much oil?
Sorry, I couldn’t resist
If you know your car, you should be ok. When I did it 2018 my lux was 12 years old and had 330,000kms on it. We travelled with a similar age D3 which has no problems.Your fishing right??
Nothing wrong with it, it’s a great car that I love to drive and has been reliable to date but that doesn’t remove the concerns of taking a 10 year old high tech car into such a remote area. As I have always stated I do accept the reality of LR ownership
Never look at crapbook for anything, yep it would more than likely be fine but I would want to replace all airbags and shockers, the plastic intake manifolds and rebuild the compressor, thats about 7k on a car that I will move on in a year or 2....Also stay away from the fbook
I think these guys were going there because they heard that the Canning Stock Root was an actual event !Nearly everyone was South African or English and had no sensitivity for the rules or locals. Nothing against South Africans but that group clearly had no affinity.
There are two CSR facebook pages, both have heaps of current infoIs anyone planning to travel the CSR in 2024?
