Pheney\'s Track camp ground

Campsite Description

A rugged, secluded spot in the National Park with a drop toilet. Very firm ground, needing strong steel tent pegs and a small sledge hammer!Plenty of mallee scrub around to provide a wind break. Could drive in fairly easily using a standard car. There were just a few corrugations when I have visited this site. Good firm road in dry conditions. No clay, so should take a fair amount of rain before becoming impassable to city cars due to ponding. 4 to 5 hours driving time from Adelaide, depending on the route taken. So a good launch point to aim for on a Friday evening, ready to explore the Sunset Country the next day. Could head east, eventually coming out at Underbool, or double back a few km and turn south towards Pinnaroo.
