Endeavour River Escape

Campsite Description

Endeavour River Eascape is one of thos little gems you find by accident. Situated just north of Cooktown this place is a very quiet haven away from the tourist crush.
It is a working homestead that has put aside an area adjacent to the Endeavour river for campers and caravaners that want a quiet stay in lush bush surroundings.
Nearly all of the campsites are out of sight from each other and are large enough for groups to use together.
There is a decent camp kitchen with hot water and BBQ and a very good amenities block that is completely solar powered.
The operators supply good firewood daily (hardwood) and when the seaon is right often just plonk a box of passionfruit in the camp kitchen.
The fee is modest and this place is well worth a visit.
To get there go out of Cooktown towards Battle Camp Road and as soon as you pass the north end of the Cooktown airstrip take the first right hand turn. The property is about four km down the road. (signposted).
