Trying out a Triton

I was traveling down Old Chum Creek track in my GU Patrol with 33" tires and 4" lift with a friend following in his Stock Triton and after I got through some deep ruts he tried to do the same.

This is how he went.....

Its not my 80, but a complete strangers.
He had been speeding across Stockton beach, having never been there before, and got too close to the edge of a dune.
After agreeing to help him provided he and his friends followed instruction and did the digging, some thinking on how to recover him safely, three hours later we got him free.

Lol I actually had fun that day - Probably because it wasnt my car so it was stress free :D hahahhahaha

Was supposed to be a fishing trip - After the first rescue we drove a few hundred metres up to the next guy who had crashed into a tree :D (also in the video clip)

This video shows the day as it progressed, Id just landed a fish as they had finally started biting when we got called off by a guy who only 30minutes prior had been refuelling his rig with 5litres of petrol after running out the night before and spending hours walking to get some lol.

Once we finally got the 80 series out (which ran out of fuel again near the top due to the angle and him only having 5litres of fuel onboard, forcing us to dump him down the bottom again) and then we came across a crashed maverick on the way back to fishing

I still got all the original photos if you want any

This is what happens when your automatic gearbox catches a lot of grass and leaf litter.
Engine light came on, follwed by smoke, had enough time to grab wallet and phone and get out.

Luckily enough no one was injured and it was covered by insurance.

All that was left.

man, you keeped your kool that day. all we got for the effort was a slab of VB. hehe
yeah, Unko84, coz I'm a cool headed type person:D:D:D, after watching part 2, i still have a laugh at the rear of the 80, 3" lift and 35's hanging like a lowrider, i suppose with and extra 4 cubic metres of water in there, the springs might sag a bit:p:);)

October last year my pride and joy decided that it had done enough and to stop and roll over. No injury and managed to winch it back on wheels and keep driving. Hopefully @underdog can upload the video of recovery.

Looks like he tried to straddle the rut but slipped in.

Nice photo.

First one is me being a d!ck try to get a wheel on a log for a flex photo.

Other is me following some directions from a fellow earth member that "just put your wheels here and you'll be able to make it over". Front wheels made it over no problem, sills stopped the back ones from making it over.

The last is my old Patrol parked waiting for a mate :D

Please don't select me to win the Douche Callinan gear. I'll just sell it on ebay and buy something I can actually use.

Dammit, I forgot to blank out my plates - hope no-one is watching.

I came across this patrol at 9 am whilst I was out, meeting a few friends. The couples had become bogged and a great angle ( pic doesn't do it justice) at 2am while trying to find some wood for their camp fire.

They had very little sleep and were very wet.

A couple other people were there and trying to recover him. They broke the rear recovery point off and broke the tow tongue off.

I went and met my friends and brought the back to help with the recovery. We wrapped some drag chain around his chassis, Double line pull and a rear anchor and slowly pulled him out.
