What I want to know is why would Yabbies be classed as pests. Is it because they dig holes or something lol
Redclaw are native to png/north Oz. They are introduced everywhere else and fast displace local species. Taste good but!

I was told the Gippsland crays are a different species to the Murray crays , apparently the Gippsland crays came from Tassie ?
Apart from the gippsland crays there are also the south gippsland crays and I think a couple of other species. I remember about 40 years ago catching some reddish spiny crays by hand around the dinner creek gorge but none of those would have been legal size to keep.

Come live in the clay belt around Melbourne.:( Actually I think they are the little yellow burrowing ones that house stumps sink into.

Telling my daughter about hypnotising Murray Crays and did a search on youtube. Couldn't find anything on the crays but found this with yabbies.
When you have 4 or 5 1kg+ crays standing on their heads it looks pretty crazy.
