Why would anyone want to fit an ARB air locker?

Can only speak for me but as a retired VACC A grade and registered mechanic love 4x4s worked on them for over 30 years from standard to mods on them, I do not trust other work shops I still do all my own servicing and repairs I find it very hard to justerfi spending $100+ per hour for things I can do my self and if I do them my self I know how it is done.
As for work shops having one tradie and 2 or so apprentices this is the norm these days, many years ago it was one for one now a days the ratio has changed some what in the wrong direction you can not watch every thing that 2 or 3 others are up to, plus do your own work then if you doing specialized work or mods or conversions it is impossible to watch others as well and then check what they have done

This is a locker failure and not install.

    A defect in machining.

    What year is your FJ?
Mine is a 2014 and the factory rear E-Locker never misses a beat.
    I haven't bothered installing a front locker - That's what A-Trac is for.

Doesn't atrac get disabled by turning on the rear locker? I know it does on hiluxs anyway.
