Hello everyone,

Im really looking at getting a 4x4 for work and play and I really want a td42 ute but my friend has told me to steer clear of them because if something goes wrong it's tends to be expensive and had suggest to look at 1kd hilux's because they are cheap to repair.
Should I listen to my friend and get a 1kd hilux or just go and get a gq or go td42?

Thank you

The Nissan td42 is a mechanical diesel engine. An old design and not as expensive to fix as newer electronic engines. But most td42s will have big miles on them. So there will be a maintenance liability with any older vehicle. Not too sure about part price differences between Toyota and Nissan though.
