Thought this thread could get a bit of interest after noticing an abundance of 4x4s heading out of Melbourne on the freeways this weekend! Where did everyone play this weekend? :D
Unfortunately I've worked all weekend but managed to get to the 4x4 campng and fishing show on Friday.

Not the weekend just gone but a couple more ago a few of us locals did the border fence track from Servy to Frances one afternoon. What a mudbath  ! Sections of the track were like canal's in the low lying area's.

Well actualy got out in the bush, headed south about 2 hours drive from sydney in and around Morton N P.
It's a great time to be in the bush at the moment, all the wilde flowers are out. Day 1 we headed along the Tianjara fire trail, some great rock formations there and big vews of the mountains to the sea.We then headed further south to Yadboro State Forest where we spent the night, more on this place + pics in the camp site section. In the morning we set out with map in hand to finde more tracks, a lot of them are pretty scratchy, but got into some low range climbing up + down into some creeks and thick bush, having a great day till a stick busted off a fuel line, had to do a bush repare and take of home.It was time to head back anyway.
All in all we had a fun weekend regardles.
Always enjoy time in the bush....

We just spent the weekend at Ippinitchie campground in Wirrabara Forest, with some fellow club members. Had a great time. We noticed a lot of Grey nomads heading back towards Adelaide on our way out of town on Friday.

Weekend before last headed out behind the Zigzag and camped at Newnes plateau, did some hellish tracks along the powerlines, wombat holes etc at night:eek: in the rain:eek::eek: on the friday.
Sat morning we headed out to the Nat park out behind Lake Lyell (near lithgow) err Ryalstone I think it's called? for a long days playing in the steep stuff and mud,1 x drowned an 07 Navara - this and a Jeep both left the tracks with no lights, the Navara was semi repaired enough to get it out of the bush under it's own steam but had to be skull dragged back to Lithgow on the tarmac by my patrol. Fun weekend bar a little too much winching for my taste.

A great day for it !!! Wife and I did the beech thing at Headlands pub car park, at Austinmer,a great place to hang at if you love beer & the beech especially when you get the grassy spot overlooking the south coast and you have your own kitchen in the back of the 4by, kilo of prawns, couple of chairs, beech umbreler for a bit of shade, crews down for a swim at your leisure.Love the summer!!
