Nice, did you put S/H Wildtrack rims on it ?

Yes I did, 18" complete with Ford badges to match all the other Fomoco names all over the ute. Bought them from a bloke down the road from me as he had the wheels and tyres swapped over before he picked his ute up from the dealer. I thought they were a good buy at $800. I have fitted 265/75 mud tyres to the standard rims for when I take it off road.

After getting my roadworthy last week and transferring my turbo diesel shorty into my name I finally could fit my body lift and 33x12.5x17 muddies on Mickey Thompson rims. Waiting on my tough dog springs to come still.

I did the 40 k major service on my Patrol, Front and rear diff oil change, transfer and trans oil change, engine oil, brake fluid change, basically all fluids and filters except the radiator. Changed the front wheel bearings rather than repacking them and kept the old ones as spares. It cost me around $700 in parts and fluids, the dealers want around $1300 for this service, but I'd prefer to do it myself and know exactly what has been done. I've had a few issues with dealers in the past not doing what was required, so this vehicle has been serviced by myself since day one.

I spent the weekend removing a four tub storage system with cargo barrier (custom built by previous owner) from the boot of my 80 series. The storage system was good but it didn't fit my fridge as the previous owner would remove the rear seats when touring and carry the fridge there. I couldn't do this as I need the rear seats for the kids when they come camping with me.

With the system removed, I now have a lot of space for my everyday carry gear and the fridge and have a lot more storage/packing options for when I go away. The next thing to do is to order the tailgate storage mod from Huracan Fabrication which will be used to store all my recovery gear and free up even more room in the boot.

Installed the 2nd Recaro into the 100 series today with a blackduck canvas cover. Got another cover to install onto the drivers side tomorrow. Massive difference these seats make really awesome although they should be at the price! Suspension upgrade on Monday and thats basicically it for the mods except for the next one I think of lol. But seriously its just about complete as a nice tourer after this except still not 100% happy with the 12v wiring I may redo that at some stage.

Fired the 12ht up this afternoon. was surprised when it fired up first kick, I chucked all the vacuum lines over my shoulder except for one, then removed the heater from inside the intake & ported & polished the intake, then removed all the vacuum switching & wiring for the shutoff valve, i will use a simple choke cable hooked up to the shutoff butterfly to stop the engine, the motor sounded great with no knocks or rattles & the rockers sounded pretty quite as well,
Now its running i can start putting my cruiser back together after work each afternoon this week & hopefully get some k's on it next weekend,
this is the only video i have so far of it running, I only ran it twice for a short time & i need to get the radiator back in, oil pressure was also pretty good so happy days :)

Final few mods completed today swapped out the Bilsteins for Icon stage 4 CDC and a set of rock sliders replaced the standard side steps. So its all done now basically. Besides the engine the FTE is still stock and I may get a Gturbo and intercooler and exhaust.

had it off cleaned it & replaced gasket, only stuff i have found so far is the alternator isn't charging & the filter light on the dash doesn't go out, I changed the fuel filter & oil filter before fitting the engine, i need to track down where the filter light wiring goes to as there is no wiring going to any of the filters, I still have a few wires in the engine bay that are not connected but i think they were from the glow system on the 2h, there are also lots of old wires in the engine bay that were not connected to anything when i brought the cruiser so i want to go through them all & tidy up the wiring & find out what they are for as well.

The alternator may need a power source to excited it.
going to put the cruiser back togethr then get the auto elec to check the alternator, i had a brand new one on the 2h but the vacuum pump on that one & the alternator body is longer so won't fit without rubbing on the crossover pipe hose so had to use the one that came with the motor.

Drove from Melbourne to Jindabyne last night via Omeo and Corryong and lot of dirt driving and these Icons are another level of awesome they transform the car. If any one is wondering about what suspension to get I cant recommend these enough. Interesting night to heaps of animals Deer and Goats and Roos and Wallabys and Wombats lol. Deer seen was one Sambar and 4 Fallow. Fallow was right near Thredbo lol and the Sambar was near the top of the Benambra road. Bloody thick fog in Nariel Valley and the Murry river valley could only see about 20m in front of the car in some places. Just editing this as i forgot I saw another Sambar on the Alpine way about 3km below Dead Horse Gap at 1500m.

Fitted up a Kings awning to the Deli in preparation of my trip to Morton Island next week . I also ordered the awning tent to match . Made up a basic bed for inside the car as well , so a couple of sleeping options depending on weather conditions .
