All these gardening, home improvement, fishing, camping and 4 wheel drive programs that have to put on a cooking segment.
Getting out and about provides the opportunity to sample great local produce while exploring new areas and also to create some amazing dishes with what you have available.
It is good to share both to give fellow travellers the heads up.

tried to deposit some cash into to my sons account at his bank (commonwealth) today, but they refused to take it because it's not my bank and told me to do it through the ATM on the street, felt a bit worried putting 3 grand in notes while standing on the foot path, but the ATM would only take 40 notes in one transaction. banks not accepting cash now.

Had a problem with the Commonwealth when I wanted to withdraw $25,000 in cash one time. They didn't want me to do it, they said I couldn't do it and come back in 3 days. A bit more to the story but I walked out the door that day with the money and across the way to I think it was a Westpac, turned waved at the teller, gave her the bird and into the bank. That was the start of numerous account closures with them.

It’s all just the slow journey to a totally cashless world
Certainly not a world I want to be a part of
In f you believe government only criminals and drug addicts need cash, the rest of us should be happy with the controlled/ monitored electronic systems

I went in to buy a genny from a large company, haggled the price, agreed, and went to pay...
The salesman put me over to the "accounts and payments" section because it was over $2k.
She then proceeded to do the transaction and then unformed me of a bank service charge. ($23).
Which I politely declined, a deal was made, and that was alI I expected to pay..
They both were complexed why I wouldn't pay the small fee, even saying its only $23. So I simply put it back I on them, Ifs it's "only" $23 I'm sure you'll have no problems paying for it.

In the end I just walked, out and brought it down the road...

Back in 89/90, we got our yearly bonus and holiday pay as a check about 3days before xmas.
We had to go up to the local branch of the comm bank to cash it.
Those pricks used to treat us like criminals because we wanted to get the checks cashed on the spot.
They had copies of the signatures in a big black ledger to check against, they just couldn`t be bothered to check it.
Sorry sir it will take 7 days to clear into your account, or for $17.00 we can put a rush on it to clear in 4days.
Bring out your manager as sir is going to beat it out of him.
We got our money in the end.

We all got a text from the manager yesterday informing us that some accounts that our pay`s go into were going to take up 72hrs to clear.
I think the boss started using a new bank.
Imagine that in the modern electronic age that a bank is still trying to play the short term money market with our pay.

Yes looking at you ANZ.

Can`t think of another reason they would piss about with the time it takes to push a few buttons on a keyboard.
Maybe not with just one company.
If they do that with 500 companies make`s it viable.

Ah OK, very much doubt the bank would be “playing the short term money market” with the weekly, even monthly, payroll of 30 people.
I very much doubt they wouldn’t, they do it with every transaction of every customer that isn’t an instant transaction, where do yo think money goes when it’s transferred from one account and takes it’s sweet time to get back to the next account? Do you think it just disappears for a few days and no one has it ?

I have no recent personal experience in the banking industry so I am just making assumptions like both of you are. Knock yourselves out with your theories.

This pollie after a texting scandal
This is his excuse, he is a 32 year old man not a boy
“I was young and inexperienced and I found myself involved in a situation that was way beyond me,” he said in a statement.

So doesn’t have the ability to navigate a relationship but in a position to contribute to running our country

Not an assumption, I used to go out with a lady who was high up in the banking food chain.
This came from her though it was more about check`s than anything else.
Banks are in the business of making money any way they can.

Cheques !! please !!

So lets call him "Dave" for anonymity, Dave sat down at 04:00 Wednesday morning of a fortknight to do fortknightly wages for round 30 to 33 staff, time sheets ended tuesday evening, Dave presses enter by 05:00 BAM aprox 55,000$ is gone.
At 16:30 friday 27 of those staff who are dragging their bottom2 on the ground are all saying and I quote "My pay is not in my bank yet?"

Add the numbers crunch the math times 100 companies paying wages? 5,500,000$ is in limbo land for two three days? NO, banks are just slow, they would never dare play hookey with MY money noooooo never!

100%. That 2-3 day 'clearance' float must be enormous when they have millions of customers. It'll be drying up though.
