Agree. Gladys has to work with the other States and go hard and go fast with Lock downs. Just like Vic. S.A. Qld. ACT. N.T . TAS. WA. COM'ON MAN.
Gladys is gold standard don't you know? We'll be locked down for months.....and locked down actually means everyone just goes where ever they like in NSW. There was a traffic jam on a main road in the mountains yesterday because a burger van had set up on the side of the road. I kid you not, there was a queue for perhaps 200 metres of people trying to buy a burger. It was like Pitt St in the city at peak hour. No burger can be that good, it was like that for around 3 hours. That's lockdown NSW style.

Melbourne lock down is the same, early lock downs and the roads were dead quiet even in peak hour, now its still bumper to bumper traffic jams half the time.
People are starting to realize that a number of people with a virus does not mean that bills, life and necessities stop so they are just continuing on with what they need , have or want to do.
Most of the Aussie population now knows the virus is here to stay, its only the pollies that think it can be beaten by making everyone live like hermits and eventually porpers because they are still receiving their $230,000 pay packets.

I think going on how it is playing out in other countries it is definitely here to stay. I would say the governments are playing a balancing act of waiting until we have enough people jabbed that our hospital system will not get overwhelmed by cases if we stop the lockdowns
A friend who returned to London last month said they are out socialising with people who have the virus now but it isn’t an issue as they are all jabbed, just like having lunch with someone with a cold she said.

For those who don’t plan on getting the jab I hope you have already ticked the Kimberley off your bucket list as it doesn’t look like you will be going there, I can only assume the other states will follow suit soon.

Most people will queue up for vaccines when they have to sacrifice their rights for travel etc. Even the majority of anti vaxxers will reluctantly get the jab if they are not allowed to associate and infect others. It's a storm in a teacup at that point. Actually it is now.

Not being allowed to the footy will test their resolve

Those that are resisting vaccination and those that keep putting a negative spin out there please note. We will not get out of continuing lock downs until vaccination rates get to around 80%. So how about those people work as hard as hell to push against the obvious bloody well work as hard to get this done.Action speaks louder than words/whinging.

Yes but is a bit hypocritical as WA has the lowest vaccination rates in the country - WA needs to pull their finger out and get vaccinated because when other States retaliate with similar actions then it will impact WA severely.

Yes probably so but you can see the writing on the wall where all of this is heading, those that haven’t been vaccinated will be severely restricted in their ways

There are already a multitude of rules that people accept in the name of public safety. You have to drive on the correct side of the road, there's no choice, you need the correct qualification to become a doctor, you need a licence to drive a car, you can't smoke in a restaurant, the list is endless. If public safety requires mandatory vaccination for certain privileges then it will happen. I already have to be vaccinated for flu to do any contract work in an aged care facility, it's a pain in the arse and I wouldn't get that jab otherwise but I don't have a say in it. People bitching about their "personal freedoms" bug me. We live in a collective society so actual personal freedoms are pretty much a myth, just ask any serial killer who's had their preferred activities curtailed by rules about public safety. You can't just do what you want if it has a negative affect on others in your community. Get the jab, you'll probably have to sooner or later.

Well said.

It's just selfish behaviour.

Yes most certainly and with State Health orders in place these restrictions will apply. Ultimately it will depend on which way the Feds and maybe the courts see things where the various discrimination and workplace laws will kick back in - these are Federal and override State laws but only if State Health orders are removed.

Legal chatter seems to indicate that for front line workers then forced vaccination will be legal but not for workers that do not interface with the public - as far as Borders go, with State Health orders removed Fed laws kick in and it is unlikely a vaccination requirement to cross internal borders will be legal as the Constitution and Fed laws then apply.

And that is why state health orders and or emergency orders will not be removed for years if not decades, it will end up like stamp duty, a temporary action for the greater good that never gets removed.

This has been on the cards for over 12 months and I know a few that have predicted this from the beginning back in January 2020 so nothing new and certainly not any suprise

There was an article the other day about a new class of citizen emerging, the unvaxxed . Apparently there is already parts of the net that are for the unjabbed including a dating site and rental and share accommodation etc.
I wonder if they will start their own football league
Reminds me of the medieval days where the lepers lived outside the city walls

You are probably right but if it is the case and cross border travel retrictions continue for a long period I think the Feds will intervene and legislate to allow it under their rules.

Well here is more moronic behavior from our Andrews government, if I was a farmer I would be up in arms about this, can just see the normal crap behavior getting pretty tiresome

Maybe thats the new media advert to get people vaccinated, dont tell them that covid can kill you but turn you into deformed featured & limbs dropping off kind of disease. Then again some could see that as a free Botox treatment

Yes, that's a raw deal for farmers. With the recent spate of wilful pollution on public land/free camp sites due to increased domestic tourism I am aghast that they enacted this stupid election promise. Hopefully there's going to be a major backlash.

the farmers should email pics of the inevitable rubbish and environmental damage to the EPA every day and bombard them with complaints, because sure as s**t there will be morons who will stuff it up for the responsible people who come, stay and go without leaving their mark. it might seem harsh, and I hope it doesn't come to that, but human nature is what it is

Yeah, but don't you know that Mark McClown is going to single-handedly keep COVID-19 out of WA forever?
