I'm a fly-fisherman & guide in the Armidale area (trout, cod, bass).
Got this nice 77cm flatty on one of my saltwater fly creations near SW Rocks last weekend.

Now that's a beauty.
Was it a keeper ?
I know when I caught one similar in QLD, I had to let it go.
Was many years ago, but something to do with female breeders at certain lengths.

PS. that photo was well worthy of it's own thread here in the fishing section !!

No, I let everything go (except carp & redfin - you have to kill them). You can only keep 1 flattie over 70cm in NSW. But they are the breeding females so why would you?

I love my fishing and have just got a new boat to go and chase the bigger fish i could never catch from the shore have just finished fitting a 27meg and am/fm radios as well as moving the vhf radio on the boat so it easier to get to when i am out on the water thinking of going out today for a fish from st kilda sa
As Les said - nice boat mate! Good feeling launching a boat like yours isn't it!
