Hi all, i have had many different ideasd on how to waterproof the dizzy on my GQ. I have gone with sealing the dizzy with non conductive grease at this stage, but only as a temporary fix. Has anyone got any other ideas?

Water proof the leads at both ends too. Steam and condensation does worse things to the ignition than water.

Stay out of the water or you will be recovered by a TOYOTA.

put a new heart in it thats got the dizzy at the top and rear of the engine then you get rid of some of the problems and it earser to make up a sheild to protect it from splashing and sprayed water under the bonnet

Mazda Rotaries used a rubber sock on the RX2, 3 and 4 which worked well. do sure if you can purchase one from Mazda or the wreckers. They would be as rare as hens teeth now

Before I hit the tracks, I soak my leads/plugs/dizzy/coil in lanolin. Seems to stop water getting in to the electrics.

I also used uathene spray from Dick Smith which is covers circuit boards. I would hang the leads and cover the connectors and spray them. Do the dizzy cap too. This would give extra insulation stopping cross fire and water resistance. Just don't get it on the connectors
