Guys... In regards to the Little Desert - Is it worth seeing/exploring or is it better to spend the limited time I have exploring the Murray-Sunset & Big Desert/Wyperfeld National Parks?
From the little I've researched, I might be better bypassing the Little Desert for another time....?

I think that's a great plan. Drop the little desert and Focus on the others.

Big desert and Wyperfeld are great, IMO Little Desert is better than Murray Sunset but that’s just me
Better to do less places and enjoy, relax and take it all in than to rush just to tick boxes regardless of where you go , there is always another time

With the amount of rain we have had lately there.is a lot.of birdlife in and around sunset murray national.park and big desert. As well as wild.flowers. I would focus most of your time on
Sunset Murray and Big Dessert with a couple of days playing in Little Desert.

Yeah, that's what I'm hoping to do + I'm hoping to see the Menindee Lakes at there best as well... The plan is to head down that way in May this year, so I'm hoping it won't be too hot in the day or night (I prefer cold nights at least) at that time of the year?

Open country with a cold dry wind at night, it starts to get cold around Menindee that time of year when the sun drops. The days are pretty mild though. I am planning to do Menindee down through the anabranch in April. It's been a long time since I have seen that part of the world with that much water. It will be good to see again.

Menindee Lakes is paid camping but you can traverse through for free - last time I was there, we stayed at Lake Pamamaroo - grab firewood on your way, there was plenty of room when we were there but with the rising water it has probably changed quite a bit.

Also stayed at Neds Corner near Lock 8 which has some sensational spots but again would be quite wet still but this would put you near the Northern section of the Border Track.

Sounds like a great trip you have planned

cheers

Heaps of free camping around the southern and eastern sides of Lake Pamamaroo. The lakes were overflowing in late August last year when we camped there. We were fully self contained. When we were there the gates were open and the lakes were overflowing into the Darling which was the first time in years. Spectacular sunsets across the lake and lots of birdlife. Enjoy

This was the top of the track when we started to head south from the desert park, impenetrable piles of tumble weeds of approx 2m high. Tried to drive through but gave up because they went for ever, plus the sound of their barbs scratching your duco is not pleasant. We ended up taking to the road!
Maybe they have cleared it by now but it would have required a front end loader

Hey Guys...
Just completed my VIC Desert Exploring Trip along with other areas in NSW and QLD. I was just curious as to whether people in the know could pin-point where the large sandhills are that u can drive (GPS Co-ords would be good). I came across two locations of what I would call "play areas" but I'm just wondering if I missed other large sandhills that need to be driven if u wanted to progress along that track...

S35.44309° E141.37491° and S35.46255° E141.28244° are the 2 locations that I did come across
