Vic chick winch challenge

Yesterday we took the boys to the vic chick winch challenge, there were some impressive trucks to look & hear as they roar past. We had a couple of friends in the comp that we were cheering on but unfortunately they both got DNF on the last round for the day, the Pro comp Jeep had issues with the transmission after it got some MASSIVE air coming up an embankment & it was stuck in second at the end of the stage, our other friend had a wheel come off during the stage & earlier in between stages she had to change the steering box in their GQ & still ended up coming second.
I had prime positioning to take plenty of pictures but I did end up covered in mud on a few occasions but the shots are well worth it

Was there on Saturday as 2 mates were competing. Must admit, not for me as all those competing must have huge 'money trees' in their backyards as heaps of damage to vehicles; broken diffs, cv's, axles etc not to mention panel damage.

Take my hat off to the navis/winch *****es; how hard do they work...:eek:

When it come to any sport there are pros & cons, all of these competitors know there might/will be extra costs during/after the event for repairs to their vehicles, as to the whole 'Money Tree' thing there is such a thing called sponsorship to help!
It does take skill, determination & guts to take part in these events be it male of female. Good on the girls for giving it a go, I know how hard they do work leading up to any event. This may not be your cup of tea allanmac but these girls do enjoy 4wding & have taken it to the next level. One day I will have the time to have a go at this, in the mean time I will absorb the knowledge from the other girls & guys to help assist me for when it's my time comes.

Dont get me wrong Elise, I take my hat off to all those who compete & they all do a amazing job...:) Also the officials who spend all day at check points deserve a big pat on the back.

Any form of motorsport costs $$$$, as I used to do the circuit racing stuff & my saying always was; 'To make a small fortune out of racing, you need to start with a big one"

I think the girls did an amazing job as did the males who were entering a comp for the ist time. Unfortunately not everyone can get sponsorship & I know that for a few competitors it turned out to be an extremely expensive weekend. As you said, part & parcel of that type of event.

Would I put my my vehicle through that hell; no way...lol.

A few pics of my mates vehicles;

Yeah that was a nice truck, I saw it a few times but i did miss taking pictures of it. Did you see the white Procomp Jeep in my first picture get the air time early in the day, I email Karen the picture today & I told her I'm going to enlarge & frame it for her.

I think we may have been chatting at that rock section on 'stairway to heaven' as you showed a few of us that pic there if I remember..;) We all remarked what a great pic it was.
