VIC-Anyone up for a play around Narbething/Toolangi region Sunday 6 June?

Anyone wanna have a bit of a play on Saturday 5 or Sunday 6 June?

Like to hit some decent tracks but nothing to hard as I don't have lockers.

Let me know if you are interested and we'll see what we can do.

Toolangi

I am easy any day. Not sure what tracks are good or are around Toolangi apart from the ones on this forum.

Feel free to email me glennyboy12(at)hotmail.com and we can try and organise something. I have an iPhone so i should be able to respond quite quickly.

Apologies for the late notice.

Im free either day, but if tomorrow let me know what time you are plannig to head out.

I spend a fair bit of time in toolangi & whilst many tracks have been graded, still some great 4wding...:D

Whatever day u decide, I suggest you give a time/meeting place etc. When i run a daytrip up there;

9.15am at Yarra Glen Bakery or McKenzie reserve leaving at 9.30am

10.15am. airdown & get underway on the tracks.

4ish?. Get back on the blacktop & head home.

Some others maybe interested, but may want to know what the agenda is.

Yep sounds like a go-er 9:15 at the bakery tomorrow. Is that the one the Melba Hwy? Google Maps says 30 Bell Street Yarra Glen

Hi Al,
Will let you come up with an agenda and lead as I don't know the area that well.

But tomorrow is the go-er.

Thanks Al

No worries I am still up for Sunday same time and place. I may have someone else who is interested in coming along.

So far two cars. I don't think Michael, (mianme) can make it.

Let me know if anything changes.

Sunday's out for me guys, will have to catch up some other time. Keep me in mind if you are looking at taking off again in the near future as I'm usually free on the weekends.

Sounds good Allan. I will be there. I don't have a UHF radio - will be my next purchase. Can you PM me your mobile number and I will call you once I get there.

Hope to see some more of you out there.

Glenn and Allan did you brave the elements on Sunday and get out?? The tracks would have been awfully wet after Saturday’s rain.

Mick, we both ventured out & it was a bloody nightmare; have never seen toolangi so wet..

We did a number of tracks & a few that we had to 'give up' on as I could not get up.. & in the process had a situation where I almost shat myself....grrrr.

A couple of pics of the 'crap' we drove....

In reality, it was a bad decision to go out as the tracks were just plain dangerous. The pic of the Navara shows where it came to a stop, only due to that it hit one of the washouts or it would have continued on.

Was great to meet Glenn & we will head out again when conditions are a little more 'favourable'...lol

The day re enforced my opinion that mud sucks big time...;). wet is ok, but that crap, NEVER AGAIN....grrrr.

It’s a shame we had all that rain and turned the tracks to s---t, doesn’t do much for me either. I usually try to stick to the shale/rocky areas this time of year although at times the mud is hard to avoid.

Thanks to Allan for being the first one to attempt each track. The first two tracks we attempted were next to impossible. We could not walk up them let alone drive up them. At one stage I was crapping myself when Allan was sliding down a hill.

Definitely looking forward to the next trip.

Thanks again Alan for your directions and being the guineapig for each track we attempted.

Allan's got the Mickey Thompson MTZ and I've got the Mickey Thompson ATZ 4 rib.

The tracks were really wet last week. Its hard to walk up a slope without slipping let alone driving on it.

We attempted a few hard tracks but then gave up because they were just to slippery and dangerous.

Take care on the tracks.
