Well, we all started off okay with no damage and the 4 cars reasonably clean. Met Elbie84, Bainsy and Bluebird68 at the Longwarry BP at 9:30 AM, fueled up and headed of towards the Latrobe River Crossing. We got to the trail bike unloading area on Latrobe River Road, aired down, had a chat and decided to head off. :):):)

I know good track said Bainsy.:eek::eek:

Anyway, headed further along Latrobe River Road, hung a left at Carrolls Track, followed that along for a little bit and then turned left onto another unmarked and un-named track, lets just call it Hell Track. We did come up with some other names for it, but being a family oriented site, probably best that we don't mention them here.

We met at the BP at 9:30 and got back to the BP at 2:30. 5 hours in all. Guess how many tracks we did.

One

And it wasn't a long one either, we entered of Carrolls Track and followed the fence line in for a little bit, probably only a kilometre or so. It was the next kilometre that took us quite a few hours.

The YouTube videos are uploading, they seem to take a while, so I will upload the links to them later today / this evening. In the meantime, have a look at some of the pics.

At the end of the day, my ( Davidman ) Pajero was only capable of one wheel drive, one huge clunk / bang later trying to get up the hill will be sending me to the mechanic.

Elise..............will be calling you during the week sometime to book the car in....hope you guys are ready :confused::confused:

Anyway, at least I still had steering. Bainsy did a CV joint, and possibly some other damage, so his previously couple of hundred dollar repair may now need another zero added onto the end of it. Must have been hard for him only able to steer right. Steering left, even the small corners was a multi point turn.

Yeah HELL TRACK is a good name! the steering loss was due to a fragment on the CV falling into a cavity near where it pivots in the swivel housing. going up that last hill was fun in 2wd! the tyres got a flogging! my winch is stuffed but its only a cheapie. ill throw it in the bin and get a good one. it was worth its weight in gold all the work it had done. im surprised it lasted that long! if i didn't hit that ledge so had id say i would still have 2 CV's! and i just remembered, i got a spare complete front end, ill nab a CV out of that until i can afford longfield CV's :D damage aside, I HAD A BALL. let this be a lesson to fellow 4x4 earth members DONT FOLLOW BAINSY!

You're right, at least we've done it and all four vehicles made it up...............eventually.

Forgot to mention that your winch burnt out.

Wish I had a spare front end, and rear bumper bar, and tail lights, and drive train......It's going to be expensive :(:(:(

G'day Bainsy

That's all of the videos now uploaded. Not sure, but I think there is one of you coming out of the creek (hole) somewhere in the list of them. I don't remember hearing a bang though.
