Yeah, this is my sookie la la set up for soft camps, plus I had to bring in a heap of stuff for community use, Large Eating shelter , 3 camp ovens, dunny tent, 12" auger for the dunny tent , a small barrell of lime for that as well; when you have a ute you feel so used and abused, and the buggers always expect you to haul out the rubbish !

And of course I forgot to mention my grog !

Bushnut, what are the Loose Nuts Club, where are they, can anyone join, etc. I live on the Mornington Peninsula (Crib Point), and have been looking for a club to join. There are a few around, but most are too far away to even bother. Are they local to the area, when are the meetings, etc, can u give me the good oil?

Hi Centaur,

Basically the Loose Nuts started off as as mainly by a bunch of people in the Optical game, it came about by Good old ROYBOY noticing that there was a lot of us that had 4X4's and didn't have anyone to get away with, mainly because most of us had visited the club scene and found them not of our liking. Our group now comprises people of all walks of life .

I for one do not care for the politicing that goes on or the clicky little groups that form within some of these clubs . LOOSE NUTS is just like the 4X4 Earth in a way that it provides a forum for people that are like minded about 4WD driving, though LOOSE NUTS are more outdoors based than.

Traveller will probably testify that we all bohemians, he was away with us last weekend.

We do not have a commitee as such, the only real office bearer is fleety who only by the fact couldn't get out of the room faster than the rest of us is our emailout person. He puts out an email notice that such an such is shooting through for a day , a weekend or what ever to someplace, anyone interested contact them on phone number.

We have a small cottage up at Lima where in the winter months we go to get away from the big smoke ( see it in my list of threads ) here we take any knew chum to 4X4ing and teach them the basics of it all .)

We have probably one so called meeting a year called the Christmas Do or someones Birthday or whatever, where the tracks get steeper and more difficult, the fish get longer- in short the truth gets embellished quite a bit

By being a group we don't have fees, or have the worry about the insurance crap nor put up with people we don't want to.We have been going 10 years now .

Have a chat to traveller as he met most of us last weekend, he will probably be mentally scarred for the rest of his life, but at least I warned him to take us as he found us.

You can email me direct on somervilleoptical@bigpond.com or on phone 59778455

Regards BUSHNUT

If you want to get onto our emailout man contact

Yes, yes.... mental scarring, hhhmmmm

embellished truths, sand pumas, beer, whiskey, wine, port, more 'embellished' truths....
bohemians indeed, yes, yes...

felt right at home:D

all in all, probably one of the nicest(slightly crazy) group I've met in a while- I'm hooked,
already asked when the next trip is
