Tracks around Armidale NSW

Hi all

I have been a member for some time now but this is my first thread.
I am wondering if anyone out there knows of any public tracks (easy to medium with some steep bits) around the Armidale NSW area. I have been asked to assist some friends (novices) so they can become familiar with there vehicles. I want to take them through stall recovery procedures as well as some basic recovery and just general 4x4ing. As to make a good day of it I would like something that is 1-2 hours out of Armidale. I am from Sydney and have only basic knowledge of the area.

Regards to all

Marcus

How about:
Pillinga/Bibblewindi/Rutley/Euligal/Denobollie/Coomore/Orr/Bardine/Yaminba/Timmallallie/Wittenbra State Forests, they all boarder each other and are littered with tracks.
Have not been there myself but looking at google you would be sure to find what you want.

Did a trip up that way about 18 months ago if you head out to point look out there are quite a few tracks out that way you can even get all the way to Bowraville if you have the time but very scenic up that way. Also get hold of the New England National Guide

So many 4wd tracks around Armidale & surrounds, you have also got SO SO SO many National Parks & Forest all around up there.
We can not wait till we are back up there,we have seen alot, but there is still alot more to explore!!!!!!!!
Remember Armidale is in the Waterfall Way area,so alot of rain!
Just watch out for flash flooding rivers & tracks that are easy when dry,BUT very difficult & dangerous in the wet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
