If the fire track is maintained, you shouldn't have an issue. I am not familiar with the track you are talking about but you should go with another 4x4 if anyone gets into trouble.

Yeah mate, take a couple of vehicles along and make sure someone has some recovery gear and experience. If you are a newbie post it up in the trips and events section and see if you can get some guys to come along.

Cheers,

The other question is if you need LOW range for any steep climbs? I have 200mm grnd clr on the 09 zook wich at times a horses arse...

But having low range opens the track menu right up..

your always better off in a vehicle that has low range gearing than one that only has high range.

Hi, I was down there last weekend. Track is good. A bit steep in a few places, definately need to air down for a few of the soft loose inclines. No water in the creeks
You should do it easily. I was travelling with a standard Pajero that had no problems

down that way on the Aus Day weekend .Some of the conservation mounds could cause a few problems as will the track if its had a bit of rain on it . some sections are a bit slippery and steep with the odd small tree /branch across the track. Really depends how far you want to go.

Does your outlander have low range?

Some of the earlier modles did, the square box looking ones.

As far as i know the later model ones do not have low range.

Rather than ground clearance, maybe the real question is if the track requires a low range? (others have alluded to this)

Cheers
