however do you all check your kits regulary , are you able to understand what goes with what , have you read the booklet contained within most of these kits ,a recent aduit within my local club found, out off date product ,leaked product that had damaged other supplies within the kits , no guide to what to do in a emergencyand and all off the kits did not contain a face sheild for CPR .
I know some of you do check your kits, and first aid training though dumbed down a heap over the last couple years is worth more than the price they charge for the course
So if you read this post and havent checked your kit before you go out next ,are you being carefull enough to help some one who made need you help when you least expect it
Your local st johns ambulance will restock your first aid kit and replace out of date items, I have mine done every 3 months for a small fee at our local st johns ambulance. and anyone holding a first aid certificate shouldd update every 12 to 18 months as doing things change such as cpr is now different on a baby than what it was say 5 years ago. so it is worth attending a first aid refresher.
Every good medical kit needs a good lighter or something to start a fire. Cauterization is a last resort but it does work.
