Bit early to tell with all the wet we have had . The Simpson is totally different now to that of 5 years ago , best info in all outback routes and destinations are the pubs . Also try the info centre at Birdsville , they are pretty good .

ExploreOZ and department of roads information need to be cross checked as quite often wrong .

A few months ago, we ment from Birdsville to Ayre Creek. It's quite rough but very dry. There has been alot of traffic this year apparantly, so the track is well worn.

Have a look under the trip section and I have a couple of photo's and a few notes.
The trip was done this July QAA/French Line....Birdsville - Mt. Dare. Conditions were very easy and from reading a trip report from last week it sounds like they still are.

Have a look at my comparison photo's and the difference between this year and 2009 is well, the photo's speak for themselves.
