G'day all,

Just to let you know I'm heading out with a few mates to Bloodwood Rd - kicking off about 1000-1030. I don't know s**t about this yet - it's my second trip "off-road", first anything more than unsealed roads and large puddles.

If you fancy coming along to escort, laugh, recover etc then I'll see you there. I'll be on Ch7 unless it's busy already. I answer on the radio to "Bluey", but I've only got a 3k range on my CB.

We're in a convoy of one blue and one gold 85 RR classic, ably led by my mate in a Defender who actually knows what he's doing.

I'll take the Webber and a bunch of snags, if there's anywhere appropriate & legal to fire up, along with a few lite beers.

umm, we're all meeting at a mates house at 0930 in Berowa Heights for bbq sausages then heading up from there. not sure exactly what time we're going to hit the track. If you get there by 1030 we'll be around.

I'm not too sure where exactly we'll be, somewhere up the road. if you get me on the radio I can tell you exactly where we are when. If you bowl up and we're ahead of you we'll stop and wait. Can't imagine we'll be anywhere where you can't get to on your own. If so I'm sure nobody will have a problem backtracking and doing it again

This is the track that we're looking at: Bloodwood - 4x4 Earth Australia for 4WD Tracks

@ BGH, nope never been there before. It might be rubbish, in which case is a good place for me to start from. Apprently it goes from unsealed road, AWD accessible to "Moderate" which from reading the classification means mud, rock and sharp descents. On the assumption it gradually "detoriorates" (improves) it should be a good place to find my limits

The more the merrier, but I take no responsibility if it's sh*t! either way, a bbq in the appropriate place and a few snags and light beers should be a good way to talk 4WD and go from there. BYO, I'll provide the heat!

i dont mind susing out new tracks. it does say that there is a need for high lifts at the end of the trail so i can check that part out and do a report for others to follow plus i can also log the track for the best run for others in the future.

98GU....... i might tag along with you as your pretty much in my back pocket location wise.meet ya at say Kings Park Maccas ???????

hey its good to see you back on the road buddy after colo.

yeah glad to be back...... was going thru withdrawal symptoms :D

remember i thought it was a hub well it was the entire front end. blew one CV and one hub was rooted ( the right side not the left as we thought ) so RickGQ rebuilt the entire front end with 2 brand new CV's, both wheel bearings and a hub seal kit.

drives like a dream now.......... so much better !

Ok so where are the photos etc?

i should have saved the pics from my phone as Rick sent to me....... im not sure if he still has them. had to cut the CV off with an angle grinder just to get it off so i did a good job of it lol

I hope nobody minds if I tag along. The troopy probably won't handle the clearance aspect very well but I just want to practice taking some nice offroad pics.

If you see a white troopy along that road, that'd be me, say hi (i will listen on ch 7 too) callsign "caboose"

Alright Guys wicked day! Thanks for taking us under your wing. Yeah clutch on Bluey held up fine; must just have been a bit of water, and managed to keep her cool enough all day. Did spend best part of an hour underneath Goldie though - slow leak in the break lines so had to refill and bleed the whole system! Here's a couple of my pics - has anyone got any images of Bluey?

Thanks again guys. Chris good to hear Bluey held up, however for $500 you can't complain too much about Goldy's leak :)

Also thanks BGH for the run around Vineyard this afternoon as well. Looking forward to the vids. I will see what pics I have on my camera.

Look forward to some other outings :D

I have also sent an email to the Bobbin Head office of the NPWS (look after the Marramarra NP) asking how we could get around the locked gate issue. Unfortunately I am not expecting a great response if any at all. Will let you know though.
