Goose, anywhere along the Murray river you can camp for free and take your dog. Also in much of Gippsland, depends on how far you want to travel, some nice spots around Noojee, Licola, Timbara and Dargo.

Hey Goose,
I am new on this site hence for the late reply, i have a woofy and most of the time i goto the Murray but i was away three weeks ago and stumbled across a Parks Vic camping ground on the edge stream run off to Nagambie lake there are two camping area's both with bush toilets (timber shelter, dunny seat and big whole in the ground) its not too bad depending on how long you can hold your breath for... LoL Both sites are on the water frontage we had our camper trailer 2 foot back from waters edge with no other campers for the week we were there (magic) Plenty of fish around i didn't drop a line but spoke to locals... It's called Majors creek streamside reserve don't try and find its not listed anywhere... About 5 clicks before Nagambie from Melb turn to left going to Mitcheltown winery (Mitchellstown Road) cross a narrow bridge single lane then past winery on right road, then hits dirt follow down another 2 clicks you cross a old timber bridge after crossing about .5 to 1 km the camp site is on the right and the second is also on the right just under a k from the first...
If you would like to see any pic's of the area just drop me a Pm with your email and i'll be happy to send you some, and also for anyone else interested... Enjoy Blinky..

Post the pics up mate. Go to the trips section and start a thread about the trip you went on, itinerary if you feel like it and post the pics up for all to see. Too easy!! Cheers

Majors Creek Photos/Info

Hi guys,

I am very interested in this spot mentioned and more so to see any photos of the spot that anyone is able to post.
I PM'd Blinky900 as per his request but I haven't heard anything back yet. We, (hubby and 2 x kids + dog) are looking at heading that way after New Years.
I am open to any other suggestions anyone may have (not too far from Melbourne, near river bank and must be able to take dogs).
Cheers

I know for a fact you can take your dog to the Coorong National park...but it has to be kept on a lead :)
"Sorry it's not in Victoria" :)
