It's javascript. It disappears when you turn off java, but you'll need it on other web sites. If only the administrators remove this script from this web site.

I'm using an ad blocker and managed to get rid of the annoying Red Bell by right clicking on the bell and then adjusting the adblock preference until it disappeared.

It gets in the way when replying to a thread, also a pain if you take a screen shot of a full page of text.
It's a piece of unwanted sh!t.

I've been into chrome settings and can disable notifications, but the bloody thing is still visable. Just not as prominent, really anoying.

Switch from Fusion to Default (as mentioned earlier).


And the *white* bell is an icon to control notifications NOT a notification itself. Changing notification settings in your browser or device won't effect a change in appearance of otherwise of the bell icon.
