Just seen the d-max advertisement do a reverse snatch recovery from stock recovery eye so it must be good enough I assume . Is it ?

Saw that ad myself last night, but there're snatches, and there are SNATCHES I guess.
Have done reverse snatches quite a few times, but nothing too serious.

Not as bad as the holden add last year think it was, maybe year before, anyway strap over towball, after abit of an uproar from the 4wd community holden realized their error and changed to a recovery hitch.

I think you would find Isuzu would not given you written documents confirming their front recovery points are rated for towing, and especially snatching.

Not a lot of thought goes into the adverts from a 4WDing and safety perspective. We too have done some reverse recoveries, but I am always extremely wary of the stress it puts on your gearbox. It's much better to turn your vehicle around if at all possible.

I've noticed that ad too but also note that they cut the scene before the snatch strap tightens.

I am trying to find a way to put points on my 2011 d max to avoid using the stock tie down loop but having difficulty tracking anything down!!

Your factory hook is rated at 2T

Most Rated points are 5T, have you called ARB, TJM, OL or Roadsafe ?

Don’t trust the factory tow hooks for a recovery. This is a 2014 model Dmax
