A hidden rabbit burrow under the track gave way once I drove over it

Bloody Landrover drivers will use any excuse to hide a suspension failure :p

I have had the same issue twice on the side of a hill with a wombat hole. Nearly rolled the vehicle and had to winch out
Rofl, yep, that suspension was maxed out. and still only had 2 wheels on solid ground.

It came out fairly easily, shovel a smooth line behind the rear wheel, fill the hole with trees, I mean broken branches, and dragged it with a chain.
A bit of bruising on the front flare and a broken rear mudflap. Lucky there wasn't more damage I am thinking.

That Merc is actually pretty capable on and off road, but its no Disco. I have driven it both on and off road in pretty soft sand, it certainly held its own. And on road, well the AMG really shines when that 6.2 lt V8 roars.
