I'm hitting the Mighty Murray circa Barooga this coming Easter (where my pic was taken). Not much 4by fun, but one of the best spots on the river to test out your camping setup. 1/2 way between Barooga and Yarrawonga on a white sandy beach. Hoping to get there before it becomes "suburbia" on the Wednesday before Easter.
1st in, best dressed.

Usually I'd be guiding & not fishing opening weekend of the trout season, but not this year. And then I don't usually fish opening weekend as every man & his dog is out there scaring the trout senseless. And I never head to this spot unless it is overcast as that sort of weather brings out the mayfly hatches and hence dry-fly action. But this year I sneaked out and had a few nice quiet hours in perfect brown trout weather.

On a sad note, the drought has killed heaps (all?) the cod in my last video. I went there in August to find dozens of them belly-up.

My latest obsession! There are dozens of targets, but hooking and them landing them on a fly-rod is another story. You've got to get that fly inches in front of their nose because apparently their eyesight is a bit crap, and with all the mud they stir up, it would be hard for them to see anyway. All other species I fly-fish for will move metres at time to grab a fly, but not these suckers.
