Scangauge11

Basically it gives you:

- Trip Information - fuel usage, distance travelled, amount of fuel left etc.

- Vehicle Information - Engine speed, manifold air pressure, volts etc.

- Codes - all codes registered by the ECU.

N.B. check the website to make sure it is fully compatible with your vehicle.

I know there was a good thread on this on the Patrol4x4 forum. The scangauge was not compatible with the 3.0t/d models but worked on the petrol models. I also think that it works on the new common rail 3.0lt/d but i'd check that last one. For what their work, they seem like quite an interesting tool for 4wd's

Yes it works on the CRD. Anyone else have one?

I have one in my 2.5TD Navara, it's a great addition. I have found the gauge functions to be very accurate. I originally purchased it to see what my turbo boost was doing. I have found that the trip computer function is excellent and the fact that you can monitor some of the other engine vitals is great. I usually have it showing boost pressure, Intake air temp, water temp and instantaneous fuel consumption. When off-road, I sometimes take a look at engine load and some of the other gauges just to check on how everything is performing. I find having the water temp in degrees much better that having a gauge that really doesn't tell you what's happening.
I have not had any error codes logged yet, but Im sure it will help to diagnose any issues if they happen. It allows you to see all of the different readings when the code occured (rpm, water temp etc)
I think it was money well spent
Cheers

Interesting that your Navara displays intake air temp when the Patrol doesn't. I am finding the Scangauge 11 invaluable in monitoring fuel economy.

I have been looking at the obd codes which there are thousands of, wondering which ones to load on to my SGII. I am also finding that the fuel gauge side is not accurate at all. Lynchie 10 if you google obd codes, there are different types scan gauges on these sites. Had a look at a US site today and it looks like there is a scangaugeIII out over there.

Babyface, The Scangauge only reads the error codes. You can create extra gauges to put on your Scangauge. Check them out here. ScanGaugeII - Australian Sales - Trip Computers + Digital Gauges + Scan Tool - Ample Outdoors

Regarding your fuel gauge have you callibrated it and set the fuel offset? It is best averaged over a couple of tanks. Is your vehicle a diesel?

Scangauge111 is not out yet.

Does it work with the Patrol 4.2TD?
Otherwise is there something similar that does?

If you google OBD codes on these sites there are different types of scangauges for sale.
I am thinking of sending my scangauge II back because the gauges are not accurate the fuel side of thing eg DTE, LHK, LPH, LT's used, fuel consumption rates are are out.:(

I have found mine to be accurate. DTE, LHK, LPH, LT's used, fuel consumption rates are all dependant on setting the Scangauge up correctly. Which diesel did you set yours to A or B? What is your speed offset? DTE will only work if you completely fill every tank and use the fillup feature.

Yer 3lt crd, i did load the xgauge kW xgauge RPM and xgauge fuel trip today. I spoke to Ample out doors and they said if it doesn't come good to reset the factory setting and start again. My speedo also reads EG 102kph and SGII reading is between 93 and 98kph this is with the cruse control on i would of thought if the speed didn't change why does the SGII show such a differents in speed.

Diesel is A i haven't touched the speed off set, i always fill both tanks to the same leavel every time. I'll be filling up again tomorrow so i'll see what happens over the next 900ks.

Babyface, are you running standard tyres? With my road tyres on I change the speed offset to +5. That way, the Scangauge and the GPS agree with the speed. Because you haven't set the speed offset, you will be getting variances in the distance travelled, klm's used etc.

Cheers

All fixed now. I got hold of Ray that use to be on the this site. He was the one that put me on to SGII. He talk me through a few things. Change the speed up by 7 and is now with in 2kph. So will see what happens over the next few fills.
