Hi all just seeing if anyone else out there has experienced an rpm surge when cruising along. It's a 2012 bt50 auto and over the last week it's slowly developed a surge if about 200rpms spoke to a mechanic near our yard he reckons it's the torque converter.
Cheers ash
Hi did you fix the problem .mine is doing the same thing auto needs work to.

Just wondering have you got it fixed I have a 2013 Mazda bt50 auto and it’s doing the exact same thing I will drop it off at a automatic transmission mechanic this week.

Yeah I've worked out it's not going to be cheap already costing $2500 & more work to be done tomorrow, do you know what they replaced or fixed with the auto rebuild, replacing the valve body $1200 & some sensors ???

Ok thanks heaps mate the mechanic said after doing what he has done 2 things left it could be the Valve body & or the torque converter & he's ordered the valve body

Hopefully it’s not like mine it was cooked I definitely had it replaced from memory there was gear shavings through the lot. Does it chirp downing gears?

No it doesn't make any weird noises just the revs up & down when cruising along at 50klms or 70-80klm on the freeway 100+ it's fine & also when your accelerating it's fine, picked it up from Mazda last Thursday they say it's fine & it's not $694 & they replaced the glow plugs
