I was on the way to Frankston last night (when i get to opposite Harvey Norman)..Two cars were stuck, floating when other 4wdrives wouldn't offer assistance and drove through at 100 mile an hour at waist deep.An elderly gentleman was in the car looking quite panicked...I hopped out in my trackies and good runners up to my balls in cold water (bit shallower in the middle) and walked over..He wound down his window and accepted for me to tow him out..While i got out my recovery gear idiots where still tearing past so i had to open and close my doors every-time to stop water getting in.Looking for a towing point on his car a 4wdrive came through and now my f#^^cking tops wet...Hitch shackle bolt is to thick so i decided to use the bolt and pin from the tow bar for this..Try putting the pin in under dirty water lmao....Anyway got him out and he said thanks and offered me a smoke,no thanks i said (thought he could hav offered me a hot coffee from the servo)..Anyway he wanted me to look at his engine to see whats wrong, sorry mate not my gig,let it sit and dry out my advice,Ive got you out of harms way and now that young bloke that's sitting where i pulled you out from wants help,By this time my tracksuit pants were off and running around in my grundies lol...Some people that went past this young bloke where going so fast the water took off his passenger side mirror and his front number plate was hanging off...Decided to pull him out backwards up on the nature strip...By this time the coppers had shut Cranbourne rd down at Beach st,and close to me...One walked over and i said your not gonna fine me for indecent exposure (undies) He just laughed and it started pouring again,he also said you've done enough mate go home in the warm.....

I noticed not one would get out of the car to help...(obviously didnt want to get wet)
Getting home with my Front Seat wet,Floor Wet and all my gear wet including my clothes just wondering whether it was all worth it...;)

Cheers

Your the only one that has to be happy with your decision to help, and rest assured I'm sure if the occasion arose again you would do exactly the same, give yourself a pat on the back and smile about the episode, well done

I saw a movie quite a few years ago. It was called "Pass it foward". You've done your good deed. I'm sure it will be passed back to you when you lease expect it. Well done. You've done us ALL proud. These kind of instances are where we need to be showing off our Earth stickers etc.

Treat people how you would like to be treated.
I have pulled over in the pouring rain to 'try' to help people, even if it's for a lend of my phone if that's all I can do. I have been broken down on the side of the road with kids in the car & no one stops and helps anymore. You did a good deed & there should be more kindness/willingness out there in the general public!

how many blokes can run up to a copper with only their reg grundies on and not spend a night

these things have a way of repaying you, but i'm sure its not what you did it for

Well guys thanks for the kind support i am chuffed,The thread wasnt about a pat on the back more inconsiderate drivers that can and dont stop making the situation worse, probably should hav worded it better..Although i noticed plenty stopped up the road to take photo's and videos,4wd's included,so much so i thought they had installed redlight speed cameras in at the intersection lol....

Thanks once again..

you did a good thing, its like the time a lady in the penrith area broke down, lights at high st and mulgoa road, no ******* would stop and help so i put my car in the right hand lane and pushed her across the intersection, only then did one other bloke stop to help.

your like me, if i see some one in need of help, i'll stop and help, part of the emergancy services training i spose.

good on ya bloke
