Recaro "Expert M".
Ok; so this one was difficult to pull the pin on. A long-term investment done early. But bloody hell, OMG.
Such a MASSIVE improvement in every way. 20cm lower, snug, supportive, multi-adjustable in every direction; pneumatic lumbar, easy to get in / out of. I could go on. Just game-changing.
100% approved by me for any 70 series. (hula girl not included)

I had a set in my last 70 and and agree they are extremely comfortable, I initially bought them as my wife had a sore back. I haven’t fitted a set in my current 70 and have to say to date I have been fine with the factory seats, will see how long that lasts

The stock seats: IMO, are not as bad as their reputation seems to be. But they're not good.
That said. Even though I paid what I consider to be a small fortune for a pair of seats. (6k supplied and fitted) I'm so impressed with them that they all of a sudden look like a bit of value. Given I've got them in the truck with about 8,000klm on the odo. I figure I'm maximising the value.
Not one scrap of buyer's remorse......
The change is more that I was expecting.

I had no problems with the factory seats, except the thighs nearly hit the steering wheel.
I changed to SAAS race driver seat as I had pre-purchased them and I wanted more bolstering for street driving.
Sports seats for racing the Troopy Bathurst Cup in 2023. I hope to place.

Yes, this was a factor for me too. The stock seat places you "on" the truck, not "in" it. Eye-line too close to the top of the windscreen etc.
This model Recaro, has 3 x height settings. On the lowest, it's a total of 20mm lower than the factory position. Huge improvement. I'm a big unit. There is also adjustable thigh support if needed.
1: I can now drive with the sun-shade down to block the low sun, but still be able to see ahead.
2: Easier entry / exit (my truck is lifted)
3: Better relationship generally, between seat / pedals / wheel.
4: Less perceived pitch and roll in general driving (this was an unexpected bonus)

Also unexpected, is that the truck feels roomier generally. Despite the seats feeling much more substantial, their "volume" if you will.. in the truck is less. Making the cabin feel airrier, both in the front and in the back.

I bought a LX Recaro in 1996, for $650, second hand like brand new.
Air lumbar and electric recline with captain`s arm rest.
It`s been in 3 cars and 3 4wd`s, I had it recovered and repaired 5yrs ago.

Still going strong.
Expensive but very good and will last the distance.

The default driving height while sitting in a 2010+ 70 series definitely feels really off. I don't know exactly why it feels so different to steel dash models but if lower seats fix that problem, it's a good move.

It absolutely 100% does.
Important note though, from my early research. Most after-market seats for 70's do not have this multi-height system. Scheel-Mann, for example. Beautiful seats to be sure, but height is not lowered from Factory.
