Rear diff - pressed in nipple?

I'm in a 2019 ranger raptor. Plenty of mods. Noticed that when installing rear diff breathers that the rear diff nipple itself doesn't have a hex screw or way of removing it from factory

Has anyone seen that before? It looks more like it has somehow been pressed in.. I tapped it with a hammer and got it turning.. problem is it spins now (not easily) and it doesn't look like it has a thread. You can lift it about 3mm

I've owned this car from factory. So just curious how do you get them out? I've ran the rear diff breathers into the factory hose. But I regret tapping it with a hammer to see if I could unscrew it and replace.

It looks identical to this. But when I lift it to undo it can't see a thread

It had front, rear diff, gearbox and transfer case breathers from the factory, so why mess with it?

It probably doesn't have a thread, a lot are just a tapered press fit. Cheaper, easier, quicker and good enough. All things they love in assembly line production.

Rear diff only went chassis rail high. And yep did the fronts already didn't mess with them just extended them 200mm higher.

It'll be a tapered press fit then like you said. Now it's got some jiggle I wonder what options I have... the old sikaflex maybe.

So why couldn’t you extend that one too without removing the diff piece

If it’s tapered can’t you tap it back in…

I have a curious brain. Trust me I ended up extending it. And tapped it back in. Just not as tight as it was I'm guessing it had rtv gasket between it perhaps to seal.

It was the difference between 2 hammer taps fml.
