Typical patronizing comment by you mate. Don't feel sorry for me cause I don't bloody well feel sorry for you. Maybe you need to direct your comments in a way that does not put people down who disagree with you?????

Just to lighten things up. Someone earlier on in this thread said he liked reading this thread for a laugh, so this might give you a laugh.

That would be funny if the old fella wasn't running one of the worlds most powerful countries that has major influence all around the world.
One fantastic thing he has done which Trump fail miserably at is encouraging change toward the environment, even our pathetic PM changed his rhetoric within a few days, although so far its just talk to appease the masses

He announced a few months ago that a new gas pipeline and plants are the way forward that will see our economy bounce back. Read a report a few days ago that stated the jobs created would be a few hundred and the project would be a complete waste of time. . Like it or lump it...coal and gas are on the way out. Good news for the environment.

Anyone noticed that if a post goes up showing Biden is a dipstick, that the anti Trump brigade don't really care. If someone puts a post up showing a Trump dipstick moment, the Trump supporters start spewing. I've also noticed that mainly Trump supporters believe in fake news, anti vaxxing, Antifa, and conspiracy theories. Not a joke or an intended insult, just a real observation, has anyone else noticed? It's very difficult to have a sane conversation when different people's take on reality is so different. Anyway, keep arguing, pardon the interuption. :)

And on top of that, I'll bet that at least 9/10 people who have strong opinions on this topic couldn't even begin to explain how the US democratic system works and the Executive power vs the Senate vs the House of Representatives, and how they relate to the Congress. Most people get their opinions from a few news sources with built-in bias. Like Fox, or CNN or worse Facebook etc.

I for one don't understand how it works despite trying to understand it and having it explained to me by an American. It's very complicated.

For example who would have thought a president can't
Allocate money to spending
Make laws
Declare War
Spend money unless it's given to him.

Not me

Fair observation. The one about fake news I find the most interesting. Can someone, who has a real idea, please list the fake news media and the factual news media sites. We hear this a lot since trump had dummy spits and insisted he was always right and anyone who told the truth was spreading fake news. I must be the odd one out Mike. I dont believe in anti vaxxing, or conspiracy theories. Antifa...anti racist group, I believe...fair enough...I know bugger all about them. Fake news...depends if you believe in the truth or non-facts..I know f very little about yankee politics.

Everyone's perception seems different. For instance, @rogerazz wrote that the ABC was full of anti Trump vitriol. Now vitriol is a strong word and I've read a lot of news stories on the ABC but can't recall any specifically anti Trump stories in truth. All I've read are reports of things Trump has actually said and done, and I've seen the videos of Trump saying and doing those things, and I've read Trump twitter posts. Now @rogerazz has apparently read and viewed the same stuff and come out with a completely opposite opinion of both Trump and the ABC. This isn't a political difference, it's a basic difference in perception that is really difficult to explain. I reckon @rogerazz is thinking the same thing unless the rascal is just trolling us for a huge laugh. It's very easy to think that an opposing view is held by a complete idiot because it doesn't agree with your own view. However, I'd rather just reflect on just how weird the world really is that such things could happen. I mean, facts should be just facts right? No, no, there are now alternate facts that we have to deal with. :)

It's getting scarier in the US. We've all heard and seen the white militias, but now there's also an all black militia and they look armed to the teeth. This can only end in total disaster for the US. We should prepare for the decline of the US as a super power. I can identify only one nation that has the ambition to take over.

I did not read the crap, as previously mentioned I watched it being spewed live by Michael and the rest of them on ABC TV showing off their leftist agenda.

Excuse me Mike if I have a smile at your attempt at portraying yourself as a non biased observer. I just had a flick through your previous posts.

We all have biases , some from our parents views, some formed from life experience, depending on your view will depend on what you see and your take on it.
The concern these days is how the media governments and big business know and understand biases and use them to manipulate the masses

And don't forget special interest "movement" groups, some of which are the most insidious, manipulative of all.

It has been going on since at least the Roman days. You just need to filter it out. Especially what's posted on social media which has fuelled the situaiton.

I have just finished ready "Game of mates." It is a hard depressing read, based mainly on Qld politics, but indicative to politics in general
My conclusion, "high percentage" (not all) of politicians of both persuasions are in politics for self interest. If you are in their group, ie donor, ex business partner, friend, ex school mate (even a family member in our electorate), prospective future employer on a board.
How you can help your mates is to rezone areas so they profit . Change legislation so your mates have a competitive advantage etc etc. Just ask Gladys, she knows how to play
You think they are governing entirely for your interests and one party is preferable to the other you are delusional IMHO
