I'm not negating your point of view and can see what you are trying to say but l don't think your really seeing the bigger picture.

Have you bothered to check out any videos of past trips of any other the tracks that are used on this forum, you will see that they are being used responsibly. Do you think people would actually post things on this forum that would show any detriment to how people use those tracks?? We are here to show how it is done properly and to help to educate those that are just starting.

The owners and admin on this site work damn hard to keep this past time on the straight and narrow, they don't promote the trashing of tracks and never will, if anything will work with authorites to stop it.

Nice work Grumpy, and if you want to see another have a look at the driveway drift one he has up there as well.

Atari, your a joke, your video is proof that idiotic behaviour gets tracks closed

IMO the 2 reasons people want to 'pm' each other about certain tracks are;

1, They shouldnt be driving there.
2. The track is so badly abused by the majority of new breed 4wders, who dont give two
hoots about doing the right thing as the need to 'proove' themselves is far more
important.

Feel free to correct me if I am wrong? the way I see it is National parks / Forestry commissions / local councils and any other body owning land would be well aware of what tracks are on their land and what access there is to it.
Being their land they have full right to gate it and prevent unauthorized access at their discretion, so why would they need to access this or other sites to know of tracks on their land.
4x4Earth does not advocate or condone unauthorized access to restricted area's, however we do provide information of tracks available for public use as deemed by the authorities.
In my opinion the available information on publicly accessible tracks does not get them closed, its the people who do foolish things whilst in the area's as well as damage both the tracks and the environment with blatant disregard for the tread lightly principals of responsible four wheel drivers.

I think that was the clearest post out of them all Walkabout regardless of my opinion...good work mate!
slowlux and atari you might be right about this website advertising tracks to the public and potentially irresponsible 4wd drivers resulting in the closure of public tracks, however IMO the "good" this site does for the public i.e. teaching of newbies, teaching of responsible driving, teaching of minimal impact, largely outweighs the "bad" advertising of tracks that you are talking about.
and you are definately right about all of us wanting tracks and 'natural habitats' in general being preserved for the future.
In theory all 4wding whether it be minimal or irresponsible is doing unnatural damage to the environment and not that ive done a 'study' but im pretty sure it causes significant negative effects to the environment and our future generations will be remeding it!
Thats my two bobs worth! Done!
