We HAD daylight saving for a year back in '91 or thereabouts. I was working up the Cape and in the Gulf at the time. It was pretty harsh. There was a good reason it got voted out up here. In the Southern lattitudes it is fine (I like it down South), but we want less bloody sun up here in the evenings in Summer, not more. South East QLD would get away with it but it is a great big State.I hate to tell you progressive and knowledgeable Queenslanders that you're wrong. But you're incorrect.
The sun rises and sets at different times every day.
Between the winter solstice and summer solstice it rises earlier each day and sets later each day. Between the summer solstice and the winter solstice it does the opposite - it rises later each day and sets earlier.
You're right - better leave highly technical things like daylight saving to those in other states that understand them.![]()
Because of thisHa ha, how did we get from police defecting cars to reminiscing good old days and global warming beats me![]()
Yep, that's what it was. They used to throw oil on the drive to watch the action as people left.Pretty sure it was "Big Chief's" with a biggish obligatory Indian Head sign in the carpark

Off Topic!! This is supposed to be about daylight savings (or 70's eateries, or...whatever).
