Tassie is a beautiful part of Australia, my auntie & uncle live in Wynyard. I did a quick 2 week tour around the island with my old 2wd but need to go back with my 4x4 this time.
Looks like you had some great weather Rusty which you have to be lucky to get there :)

We left home during the lousy weather that caused all the flooding up north. It was pouring all the way from home (South Coast NSW) to Bairnsdale VIC where it started to clear up. Had absolutely brilliant weather all the way around Tassie with the exception of one drizzly afternoon. It was unusually dry for Tasmania and many of the farmers must have been getting a bit concerned. But they've had plenty of rain since we left to make up for it.
Will definitely be heading back for a 3rd trip. It is a gem of a place to visit.

A guy I used to work next to had the unlucky end when he camped in a very similar spot, woke in the night and needed a pee, his misses said don't fall over the cliff, he laughed and said na I know were I am going, that was the last thing he ever spoke:oops:

We were discussing this kind of thing in a recent thread right.

We are in control of our own destiny, that is unless some other moron intervenes.

Seemed like a good thing at the time & a good photo OP

Well they shouldn't have put a switch called X-mode then if they didn't want me to try it out.

@cam04 that looks nice at Crows Nest. Care to share to actual location?
Yes it’s a Hipcamp property, just called Emu Creek. About 25kms up the blackbutt rd from crows nest. The pic doesn’t show it well but the camper is parked right next to the creek bank. Heaps of downed she oaks after the last big rains.
