Escaped the 'rat race' for a few days, just turned left off the Great Northern Highway 65 Kilometres or so north of Newman, didn't see or hear another voter in four days. Peace and quiet in the Inland Pilbara.

On the Nemo road today edge of Kosciuszko I turned around shortly after these pics as it was getting to dodgy the further I went and I was solo. Was also up at Perisher in a total white out blizzard and its getting worse as the day gets on. I turned around at the shut gate to Charlottes pass and had to use both diff locks to get out as I sunk into the snow at the roadside edge! Currently in Jindabyne

This was the last little snow drive for this trip. This is from Kiandra then Long Plane Road and then onto Broken Cart Road and then Boundary road and then Bremina road and finally onto Brindabella road. Over 50kms on snow and also had to move 3 fallen trees off the road to get though. Probably the last car to do this as the track gets closed for the winter on the 1st June. Its pretty remote for this time of year no one else out there. A few wild horses seen. Car was awesome no issues was high range the whole time with centre diff locked for 50/50 traction. Only used the front and rear diff locks while pulling the fallen trees out of the way with the winch extension strap for extra traction.

I drove that track a few weeks ago, looked a bit different then.

The Qld Ute and camper are well out of their comfort zones on this trip. We are loving the higher colder parts. The southern nsw coast was also amazing in its own special way. I could spend a lot of time around there.

G'day Maurice

Somewhere in a gorge, up a creek, near a big Snappy Gum tree walking on geology somewhere around 3.2 Billion Years in existence somewhere out West in the 'Land Of Iron' and a fair way off anything like road.

Warm sunny day, freezing cold night ~ but absolutely magnificent and 'purely the Pilbara'

Best wishes and Safe travels : Joe Fury
