Photography trip - where to go

My brother and I are planning a trip out into the centre, ex Sydney in July and are in the process of planning a route. He suffers from a medical condition that precludes him from driving, so that will be all down to me. Because of his medical problem, he has not been able to get to lots of places that he would like to see and photograph. He is a passionate photographer, so I want to be able to take him to places where he can run his camera red hot! I would appreciate suggestions from all you shutterbugs on the site!

As far as the centre is concerned Kings Canyon, even Ayres rock hasn't been spoilt by the tourist thing, any of the gorges from Glen Helen in towards Alice, Chambers Pillar, the Simpson when it is happening with the wild flowers _ take your pick , some of the sunrise and sunsets are to be seen to be believed .

If you were going some now, Lake Ayr would be the go. Some of the areas around Birdsville.

A good thing to do is look on Google maps and some of the photos from other photographers are there

Cameron, If you looking at doing Central Aust it is hard to by pass the places Bushnut mentioned. There are lots of tourists but the places are still magic to look at, photograph and paint. From Sydney you could go Dubbo - Tiboobura - Cameron Corner - Marree - Oodnadatta Track - Painted Desert - Coober Pedy and then up to Uluru - Kings Canyon - West MacDonald Ranges. We did that trip from Brisbane and were blown away with the scenery. We took 5 weeks with two children, covered 9,000k and my only regret was that I was not a better photographer. My sunrise shots of the banks of Coopers Ck at the the Dig Tree, The Painted Desert, Arkaringa Station etc do not do justice to the beauty of the events. This year my gaol is to buy a REAL camera and develop my skills as a photographer. The Centre is full of tourists, but they go there because it is so spectacular. Where ever you choose to go you will enjoy the photography.
Cheers
