These babies are TOUGH !
this 'un is a 4.2 EFI Auto on LPG (60 cents per litre yeehaa)

Bad Points
The Oil Pressure Sender Units... whover made 'em should be mercilessly raped with a case of green pineapples.

What mods have you done?
2 inch TD lift, Torque converter Lockup Switch, 1st gear shift kit

What mods are on the list to do?
33 x 12.5 tyres
Front Diff locker

Why did you buy this vehicle?
Price initially.... it was 33% cheaper than Landy's of similar K's and Age.
Now having driven it for 18 months and 35,000 K's I wouldn't consider buying anything else of that era but a Patrol

How often do you go offroad?
Weekly

What will your next vehicle be?
Hearse (I'll be in the back)

Hiya Cliff,

Yep, had Patrols and Cruisers's in the past meself plus an Explorer for a coupla years..also work (Gov't dept) uses both extensively plus Hilux's and my current work truck is a 4X4 Ford Ranger with a Hiab. The modern stuff is very nice but from the 90 to 95 era the GQ patrol is an absolute Warhorse.

Hi the evil twin,

Do you find using the torque convertor lockup switch much of a difference downhill? Do you have a guage for transmission temperature fitted?
