Hey people,

I just bought myself a not far off stock '93 suzuki vitara. I haven't done much 4x4in, so reasonably new to it all. I've been out the back of gembrook every weekend since i got it, havin a ball up the tracks around there, really hooked!! I come close to chuckin a sickie from work the other day just to go for a bash! Haha.
I'm fitting a UHF in the zook on friday night, does anyone know a good channel for that area??
Anyway, If there's anyone around this area thats keen to go for a run one weekend, old, young, pro, newbie, whatever, give us yell. :D

Gooday mate , your little Zook is a very competent machine , but before you do any serious off roading get some good rubber on.

Get in touch with Patriot alias James, he and a few others go and play in mud in the Bunyip forest and he will give you the good oil . Playing in the mud is not really my scene these days, up in the real High Country is where I'm at.

Look at the O'tooles gathering thread and the Barberques in the snow forum, good place to start .

From most of the members you will get good advice on what is important to have on your vehicle - there is a lot of useless accessories out there, remember, the sales person is there to part you from your hard earned ,

Get in touch with 4X4 he is on top of most things ! (tongue in cheek ) :D:D:D

I went home from Tonimbuk yesterday via Towt Rd, Bunyip River Rd, Labertouche North Rd (heading East). Headed up Tea Tree Tk, which looked a little skatey in some of the steep parts, but we got through ok. (good test for my road AT tyres, they never been off road). Then turned left and left into Gentle Annie Tk from the north. Very deeply rutted since last time we went there. I doubt if you would bother taking a car up there with std clearance and HT tyres. We only got 500m and came across a MT Range Rover and AT Pajero. The Pajero was parked across the track and as he had a winch and a friend, we left them alone. We headed home down Forest Rd.
It was much drier than what I was expecting. Even dusty in some places.
