Oztent Jet Tent F25X

G'day fellow adventurers. I recently had a product failure experience with my Oztent Jet Tent F25X where the legs failed to "unlock" / fold in when packing up the tent. I have diagnosed the issue and have rectified the problem.
I am not here to shame Oztent as their RV range and bunker tents are brilliant! I have two Jet Tent Bunkers which I am very happy with.
If you have experienced a similar scenario I am happy to assist or quote this specific repair which will make your Jet Tent better than new in this regard.
I am located in the Wollongong area.
Cheers,
Peter

Hi Peter,

It was only on my last outing I ran into the exact same problem with the Oztent JetTent F21 not folding down one of the legs. It was in the middle of a rain storm, so not the best time to find that problem, but we mad it home with the tent. In diagnosing the issue, the cable connecting the locking pin looks to be disconnected or snapped, i.e. the locking mechanism is not retracting when folded down.

I'd be interested to find out how you've effected the repair and a quote to have it repaired. I'd rather repair than to throw in the towel on the tent.

Cheers,
Mick

G’day Mick
Oztent have a 2 year warranty on defects if you are within that time period.
If not I’d ring Oztent and enquire about a repair, they are an Aussie family run company so I’d assume their customer service is pretty good.

G'day Mick, Sorry to hear of your predicament. Working out how to repair the issue was necessary as Oztent did not respond for my request for assistance. I then followed up my email with a phone call. A new leg was offered for sale (buying the same issue) and then zero contact again.
I have attached a photo of the most likely scenario. The swages used ( not much better than tin foil) are not up to the demands of the tent design.
I manufacture new cables with heavier duty swages.
Where are you located Mick? I would be more than happy to assist in any way I can. I agree, the quality of the tents are great and much too good to throw away due to this issue.

G'day Bomber,
Oztent do have a 2 year warranty, if your tent requires repairs within the warranty period by all means contact Oztent.
Sadly I did not experience good customer service. Oztent are an Aussie run company, the tents are made in China.
The quality of the tents are brilliant except for this issue.
I just want to see these tents being used and not dumped on the tip due to a minor issue which can be resolved.
Cheers,
Peter
