hi all , so today I bought some road safe recovery points and decided to install them myself and they were a pain in the ass but managed to get them on . I had to remove all of that plastic guards that just fill up with sand when you reverse on the beach and cut into the bumper a little bit which is no problem .
So if any ones having trouble getting them on send us a msg and I'll explain how I got them on.
Cheers drew

are they different from the D40/R51? they were a PITA with a bumper but easy with a Bullbar ... and then certain Bullbars (ARB) used those mounting holes for the bullbar so you had to source different ones?

Not the same as d40 but apparently they fit with the arb and iron man bull bars

Hey Drew, I brought some of the road safe recovery points too. Installed the passenger side, which had threaded housing for bolts within the chassis, but the driver's side does not. The chassis seems to be enclosed tube; how did you get yours on? Cheers, Neal

Similar to the BT50 , Tie string through eyelet holes , and have plenty of coat hanger wire pieces bent to locate.
There should be any opening in the chassis rail to put it in and then carefully pull through.
Its not a easy job to do at home lol ;)

Sorry for the late reply the nuts should have a length of 8g wire tacked onto it so you need to have patience And feed the wire with nut on it into position I used double sided tape to hold the recovery point in situ and be very gentle find the nut and screw in by hand till it grabs and the do it up . Sounds simple but it can be very hard and frustrating .

These photos show the hole I went through and you can see the wire coming out of the hole . Well they were tacked onto the nut and also the nut was tacked onto a 20 x 40 mm plate which stopped the nut from spinning. Hope this help wasn't to late
