Hi has anyone has the idler tension fully continually squealing following going through muddy water,

I have had this fully replaced twice and now looks like I am doing the job again.

Any thoughts on how this may be prevented

Sounds like they're running the wrong type of bearing to me. I am wondering if the bearing can be pressed out of the pulley? I have replaced bearings in idlers on a few occasions and even the ones that are made of plastic and appear to be moulded can have the bearings removed. You normally find that they use a fairly common sized bearing and in most cases there are a few different seal options for them. If you know someone that can do this for you it might be a good place to start.
Failing that, maybe you need to give it a drink of WD40 or similar before and after you take it swimming.
