Hi all,
Just joined up. I learnt the art around the Shoalhaven back in the day and would love to rediscover the area with short, reasonably challenging driver (with a 6 yo in the back).
I know most tracks are blocked off but wondering if there are still any open? Monkey gum comes up a lot but those posts are usually years old and I only have a bog stock old Pajero with 2 inch lift, no lockers etc. so it's probably out of my (cars) league. Also just A/T tyres.
Any advice on open tracks, a bit of adventure for me and the little one, I'd be grateful.
Cheers,
Pat
PS. Will be in the area this Sunday/Monday

Monkey Gum is not a difficult track - certainly in the dry - with care and if driving with another vehicle I am sure your old Pajero will make it through Ok in the dry.

Thanks Synchro,
I'll be on my own. I've read it's only for well-lifted vehicles with all the recovery equipment which is obviously not me.
Are there any other tracks in the area that are easily accessible and not too risky of getting stranded with a young child?
Thanks for your help.
PS. So mintbush/monkey gum aren't gated up or blocked with boulders?

Monkey Gum is hard enough that you can dent a panel if you are on your own and you aren't careful. I haven't done it for a few years though.
