NISSAN PATROL, 1990


Good Points
It has a rb30 turbo engine
It is good for camping and 4wd
it is tuff and it is a nissan

Bad Points
It has no rear windows


What mods have you done?
4inch Suspension lift and a 2 inch body lift
A set off 33 inch by 12 1/2 kumho mt
a set off 2 front recao seats
2 1/2 inch sports exhaust and a hi flow cat
a aluminum bull bar and a set of 4 200wats spots lights
5% window tint
a rb30 injected turbo which is a vl turbo conversion
a long range fuel tank

What mods are on the list to do?
Snorkel
And 10inch rimes

Why did you buy this vehicle?
so i can go 4wd and camping
and just go and have fun with my mates

How often do you go offroad?
I try to go offroad or camping once a month

What will your next vehicle be?
GU Patrol

hi mate i got my body lift off ebay for $185 plus shipping
and it well take you 2 hours to fit and it is very easy to install

Why do you want wheel spacers on a GQ? They have a pretty good track. Even with a 6" lift, you'd be better off with 10" rims.

If it's extra leverage you want from the diffs to enhance articulation then I wouldn't bother man. If your 4" lift has the right components you shouldn't need it.

33's are stress enough for your wheel bearings really. I have a GU with a 4 inch lift & I know guys with your combo too & trust me, anymore is a waste. You may want to look at putting better suspension componenets in. Most guys I know use king springs & either koni or tough dog shocks. The rest is not so important but spring set up is. For eg a lot of people get king spring SP3's & put a 1" nolethane spacer, which is a waste really cos an SP4 will react so much better. I use my sway bars on rd & can corner harder than most stock GU's.

Nice beast but. Good choice.

OK mate thanks for the tip but the only reason why i want to get spaces is becos i didnt know what rims to get. My tyers sometimes scrub under full articulation.

Thanks for the adivse on the 10" wheels! Now i can look into it.

The suspension is tough dog suspension and the streeing dampener is fully adjustble but i want to look around for a better steering dampener, the car is very floaty about 100kms.

Do you have any advise on what sway bar to use for my car becos there is non at all at the moment?

Do you have any advise how to fit a caster brushes on the front diff becos the front brushes are shagged out and they need to be replaced. There are a pressing type brush but i know how to fit them but is there a special way to fit them or is it a matter of pressing them on and off?

2 1/2'' pipe from the CAT back straight through, duel bat, snorkel DP chip will come early next year. Have pic on 35mm film of my fist patrol Will put some pics on new patrol soon.

nice rig budy . could nt help but ask about your motor is it an rb30e, rb30et, or a rb30det ?

only cause you said you wanted more power i would of thought a rb30det would have a good kick, being a 3lt. turbo charged double over head cam motor

the motor is a rb30na

i am puting are rb30 bottom end and rb25 head i am puting the motor in next year i just need to find a turbo
