G'day to all my fellow 4B drivers. I'm a member of other 4x4 sites so I'm kind of in familiar territory. It's always good to jump on a new one though because you get to meet more 4x4 aficionados.
I'm a casual 4wdriver and not into any of that hardcore rock climbing stuff. I'm more into the touring side of things and like to get off road onto some not so challenging to medium tracks.
My favourite place to explore is the Victorian High Country (God's country).
I've currently got a 1995 Jackaroo with the 3.2 V6 and 5 speed manual. I've only got a few modifications on it which are the usual lift, bigger tyres, alloy bull bar, cargo barrier, UHF, EPIRB, GPS, Roo Lites lamps, digital compass, Black Rat winch kit, fire extinguisher and a high lift jack.
I've found the Jackaroo to be a very underrated vehicle but capable machine and it's been engineered to last. I previously owned a Pajero and a Patrol and the Jackaroo is the best so far. No complaints at all.
I'm currently in the process of changing GPS units from a GoNav with a big 7" screen to an IPAQ 312 which I should get early next week. I found the 7" screen to be great but just a little too big for the Jackaroo.
The car came with Goodyear Wrangler AT/R's but in the next month or two I'll be getting a set of mud tyres.
Anyway that's about it for me for now. Keep an eye out for my threads. I've started some on other sites which really caused a lot of debate particularly regarding the ever rising cost of fuel and alternative fuels.
