Hey,

So I recently got a new job and moved from Sydney to Newcastle. I'm keen to get out and go for a spin sometime. Anyone keen? I'm thinking in about August sometime. Medium grade. Just throwing the idea out there.

Any good tracks nearby?

I'd be keen for a weekend wheel, just let me know when :) @Luthy @03hilux @ALUX
Yeah let's tee it up. I'll get some dates together. 20/8 27/8 or 3/9?

Planning for just a Saturday spin but could be talked into an overnighter...

Any good ideas for tracks? I've done a bit of exploring around the watagans. What about something like drury lane or greens break? Open to ideas.

At this stage the 3/9 works for me as a day trip. GBR would be good. Ive never done drury lane. How would you rate it?

Yeah the 3/9 works for me.... we did drury lane at the end of last year and it was pretty good fun, only had 1 truck end up with some panel damage. I would class it as medium/hard grade. GBR id a short track and a little tricky but pretty easy if u ask me. Im easy were ever we go... Watagans, Ourimbah, Killingworth or even if u wanna try something near karuah or Up the back of Myall and camp near a river for a fish. There are plenty of places to go just have to come up with a consensus how far everyone wants to travel. Any ideas of how many want to come?

Like Luthy pointed out its up to how far everyone's willing to travel and what kind of 4x4ing
Awaba state forest and killing worth are pretty hard tracks
Watagans it all ranges, on a point of that too I did GBR about a month ago it's super overgrown down the 5 hills entrance for those of us that are worried about the pin striping!
I'm liking the suggestion of Myall Lakes and Mungo Brush area but that's a good hour and a bit out of Newcastle and from the one small run I did up there it was mostly pretty easy going

What about up Chichester way? Makes for a longer drive but could be good. Mungo is good but there's only really the beach run?

Heres wat im thinking...... We start sat morning at medowie and head into Wallaroo NP for a look and if we get time or bored we can have a look in Wallaroo state forest and if we get bored there we can go to Karuah NP and try afew tracks there. A camp by the river so we can do abit of fishing, maybe catcha prawn or two or even a crab. Then either head out to either of these places or duck up the road to Goo-in-dee NP. I think there is some good tracks in Wallaroo google it. And all within an hour of Newy so not to far to drive for all. Oh and i might be able to see of we can get some nice size yabbies for the arvo feed.
