Gday guys.
Well a Iguess a number of you are wondering why I didnt attend the big get togeather we Just had.

Well surprise surprise surprise after boasting that our ZD 30 had done nearly 300ks the motor decided it didnt want to go any more. After spending the last 4 weeks trying to find another or new ZD30 I gave up and decided to to replace it with something else. I looked at putting in a TDI4.2 but found the cost as dear as replacing the ZD30 and a heap more work.
So after twisting the wifes arm and making her watch Roothy on his last WA adventure we have decided to send the old girl over to Brunswick diesels for a nice big 6.5 litre Chev V8.

I will tell you all that the people at Brunswick will bend over back wards to help and even come up with Ideas from left field they are great. No question is to great or small and always a smile over the phone. Cant wait to get the old girl back( the rig that is not the wife) and hook up the camper and off we go.

Good luck with this Split pin. Must be very exciting getting a new 'heart' for your car. And the fact that it is so different to what you had before!

Make sure you let us know how it all goes.

It will be a whole different rig than what we are used to. It goes on the truck on Tuesday its going to be sad to see her go but knowing she is going to come back bigger and better. Cant wait to get her back and try her out.

Wish I had known mate, Nissan are selling off brand new bare motors for 2.8, 4.2, and
3.0's for a little more than the cost of a second hand reco, plus you get 20'000klm genuine factory warranty. great to hear you got 300'000 out of the first motor- the gen1 and 2's had engine management issues.

She wont go much faster, but it will have a shit load more pulling power, be interesting to see how the driveline handles it after a few years.

Very swish. Nice and clean now, but soon . . . . Watch out for those speeding fines too. You won't need your right foot so close to the floor!!

Keep an eye on that air intake hose, they have a tendency to crack on the inner part of the curve, best if you could get a spare one or get a more durable one.
